Mr. Fateh has had good fortune in picking his quarries. It is part of the family trade that combines wisdom with common sense. Obtaining quality material first requires finding a potential quarry and marble vein. Then, we take core samples to verify the quality and purity of the marble and to help us determine the best location for digging the quarry. The mining process involves diamond wire and diamond-tipped drills that separate the rock by drilling holes in the marble from the top of the quarry as well as through the side. This preserves the integrity of the stone during extraction.

Cutting and Polishing
Because of the massive effort it takes to extract the stone from the quarry and prepare if for the finished product, it’s in this phase of production where we especially focus on refining the texture to the desired aesthetic required for each specific project.
Preparation
Upon extraction of the stone, care is taken to ensure the material is transported to the factory in a proper manner to begin the production process. We unload the blocks and classify them in the block yard prior to being sawed. Due to their large dimensions and heavy weight, the blocks are moved and handled with cranes and other specific machines during both loading and unloading as well as during processing. There’s an appreciative anticipation to witnessing this process, knowing what this raw material is going to be transformed into.
Tile Cutting
This stage is where the expertise of our artisan craftspeople comes into play, balancing their interpretation of the marble while keeping the integrity of the stone intact. Depending on the type of marble and the intended product, there are various ways a block can be cut, whether it be by block cutters or multiwire cutters. Another factor taken into consideration is size, since the measurements influence the cutting methods in terms of efficiency and reduction of waste. Multiwire cutters are used in the production of slabs, whereas block cutters create strips that are further processed by the mitre saw or cutter in order to create tiles.
